Kyrgyz president signs decree reforming Border Service

Bishkek, Feb. 10, 2026. /Kabar/. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov has signed a decree introducing changes to the structure of the Cabinet of Ministers and reforming the status of the country’s Border Service, the presidential press service reported on Tuesday.

According to the decree, amendments were made to the presidential order dated Oct. 12, 2021, on the structure and composition of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) has been transformed into the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic as an independent state body. The position of chairman of the SCNS remains within the structure of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to align its decisions with the new decree and take the necessary measures for its implementation.

The decree enters into force upon official publication.
