Bishkek, Nov. 13, 2025. /Kabar/. Political consultations were held in Bishkek on November 12, 2025, between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.
The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Meder Abakirov, and the Swiss delegation was led by Under-Secretary of State and Director of the Department of Eurasia of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Pierre-Yves Fuchs.
During the consultations, the parties discussed the bilateral agenda of Kyrgyz-Swiss cooperation, focusing on trade, economic, investment, and water and energy sectors.
The heads of delegation emphasized the importance of intensifying high-level political dialogue and expanding the legal framework, and discussed planned visits and events for next year.
Given the successful implementation of the bilateral Cooperation Program between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland for 2022-2025, aimed at implementing economic and social projects, the parties expressed mutual interest in continuing the Program.
The parties also commended the two countries' interaction within international organizations, including the UN and the OSCE. Discussing issues of multilateral cooperation, Meder Abakirov asked the Swiss side to support the initiatives the Kyrgyz side is promoting within UN structures.
Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on the international agenda.
