Bishkek, July 28, 2026. /Kabar/. Over the past four years, Kyrgyz-Uzbek Development Fund has approved 37 projects in various sectors of the economy, totaling over $100 million. Aziz Aaliev, Chairman of the Board of Kyrgyz-Uzbek Development Fund, announced in his interview with Kabar during the Kyrgyz-Uzbek business forum.
According to him, the projects financed include initiatives in energy, transport, the social sector, equipment supply, financing of garment factories, and the supply of components from Uzbekistan and other countries to Kyrgyzstan.
"We completed successfully nine projects. The companies have repaid us the entire loan amount and implemented their projects," the head of the fund noted.
He reported that the fund is currently developing 11 more new projects totaling approximately $100 million.
"Today's business forum between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is an effective platform for entrepreneurs planning to launch new projects, attract financing, and explore promising areas. The forum, above all, provides an opportunity to establish contacts. "The Kyrgyz-Uzbek Fund's goal is to unite the businesses of two countries, identify mutually beneficial export-import projects, and strengthen trade and economic cooperation," he said.
Almaz Aaliev also announced that the fund plans to expand its financing options using national currencies.
"Currently, we finance in dollars, but recently received approval to also finance in the national currency. This is a comfortable environment for our entrepreneurs, as dollars always carry currency risk," noted Aziz Aaliev.
He also announced that the organization is transitioning to implementing Islamic lending principles.
