Bishkek, Feb. 2, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyz athletes Dilnaz Sazanova and Nurzat Nurtaeva won medals in the international women's wrestling tournament, the Ivan Yarygin Cup.
According to the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic, the competition was held from January 29 to February 1 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
Dilnaz Sazanova won the silver medal in the 62 kg weight category. En route to the final, the Kyrgyz athlete defeated Akylai Chynybaeva (Kyrgyzstan), as well as Russians Anastasia Sidelnikova and Ekaterina Oleynikova.
In the gold medal final, Sazanova faced Ok Ju Kim form North Korea, the 2025 Asian and World Championships silver medalist, and lost 2-12, finishing second overall.
Nurzat Nurtaeva also won bronze for the Kyrgyz team in the 72 kg weight class. In the third-place bout, she convincingly defeated the 2025 European U23 Champion, Russia's Kristina Bratchikova, with a score of 6-0.
