Kyrgyzstan and Korea agreed to digitalize financial sector

Bishkek, Sept. 17, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and the Korean financial groups Hana Financial Group and iM Financial Group agreed to develop cooperation in the digitalization of the financial sector. Following the meeting in Seoul, the parties signed a corresponding memorandum of cooperation.

According to the National Investment Agency, during a working visit to the Republic of Korea, the agency's head, Ravshanbek Sabirov, met with Hana Financial Group CEO Ham Young-ju and iM Financial Group CEO Hwang Byung-woo.

The parties discussed the development of investment cooperation, attracting investment to the Kyrgyz economy, digitalization of the financial sector, as well as the possibilities of implementing modern financial technologies and implementing joint projects.

"Kyrgyzstan is interested in expanding cooperation with leading financial institutions in the Republic of Korea. We are open to implementing modern digital solutions, attracting investment, and implementing joint projects that will contribute to the development of the country's financial sector and economy," noted Ravshanbek Sabirov.

The memorandum provides for the development of cooperation, the exchange of experience, and the exploration of opportunities for joint initiatives in digital financial technologies.

The parties expressed their willingness to continue working together to develop digital financial infrastructure, attract investment, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
