Kyrgyzstan and Korea discuss implementation of projects under $500 mln agreement

Bishkek, April 24, 2025. /Kabar/. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the Republic of Korea Aida Ismailova held another meeting with Senior Executive Director of the Export-Import Bank of Korea Hwang Ki-young.

According to the diplomatic mission, during the meeting, issues of further implementation of the Framework Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Korea on the provision of loans from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), signed in December 2024, were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to promising projects in such areas as healthcare, transport, civil aviation and others.

The parties also reviewed the current status of the implementation of existing projects carried out within the EDCF framework and expressed mutual readiness for active cooperation in order to effectively implement the agreements.

Ambassador Aida Ismailova expressed gratitude to the Korean side for its comprehensive support for the socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic and emphasized the interest of the Kyrgyz side in further expanding bilateral cooperation in priority sectors.

The Framework Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Korea was signed in December 2024 during the official visit of President Sadyr Zhaparov to the Republic of Korea.

The document provides for the provision of a preferential loan to the Kyrgyz Republic in the amount of up to 500 million US dollars for the implementation of various projects in priority sectors of the economy.
