Bishkek, Sept. 21, 2026 /Kabar/. Political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique—the first in the history of their bilateral relations—took place in Bishkek today.
According to the ministry, the Kyrgyz delegation was led by Mirbek Karybaev, Director of the Fourth Political Department, while the Mozambican delegation was led by Faruke Omar Fakira, Deputy Director of the Department for Asia and Oceania.
During the consultations, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Kyrgyz-Mozambican relations, exchanged views on pressing international and regional agenda issues, and explored opportunities for expanding cooperation within international organizations.
Particular attention was paid to developing trade and economic cooperation, exchanging experience in digitalization, tourism, and the mining industry, as well as addressing climate change and the "mountain agenda."
In addition, the parties discussed preparations for upcoming official bilateral visits. It is noted that, following the consultations, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening political dialogue, expanding practical cooperation, and holding political consultations on a regular basis.
