Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland to implement cooperation program

Bishkek, Feb. 24, 2026. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev met with the head of the Swiss department of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis.

According to the department, the meeting of the parties took place in Geneva within the framework of the High-level segment of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council.

During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Swiss cooperation, including political dialogue, trade and economic interaction, implementation of the cooperation program for 2026-2029, as well as cooperation within international organizations.

Minister of foreign affairs congratulated the Swiss side on the chairmanship of the OSCE in 2026 and expressed readiness for close cooperation within the framework of the organization.

The positive dynamics of bilateral relations were also noted and the importance of revitalizing high-level contacts was emphasized.

Particular attention was paid to the development of trade and economic ties, attracting investments, cooperation in the tourism sector, and the implementation of joint projects.

The meeting also exchanged views on sustainable mountain development and issues on the international agenda.

As a result, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the Kyrgyz-Swiss partnership and developing a constructive dialogue.
