Bishkek, April 10, 2025. /Kabar/. A meeting was held at the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) between Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Erkin Checheibaev and Minister of Health of Turkiye Kemel Memisoglu, dedicated to issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare.
The Ministry of Health reported that the main topic of the talks was the discussion of current interaction and prospects for the development of healthcare systems.
Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Protocol on Cooperation in the Field of Organ Transplantation, signed on November 5, 2024 in Bishkek between the Ministries of Health of Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye. This agreement was the result of negotiations between the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Minister Checheibaev noted that reforms have currently begun in the country to develop the public health service. He emphasized that Turkiye's experience in achieving results in changing the behavior and lifestyle of the population is of great interest and can serve as an example for other countries.
In turn, Minister Memisoglu noted that the Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital is an important platform for exchanging experiences and training medical workers from the regions of Kyrgyzstan.
The parties agreed on further mutual cooperation in order to strengthen interstate partnership in the field of healthcare. It is expected that the implementation of the Protocol on Cooperation in the Field of Organ Transplantation will contribute to the development of the relevant program in Kyrgyzstan, expanding the possibilities for treating patients. Cooperation will include the exchange of experiences, training of specialists and possible joint operations.
The meeting demonstrated the desire of Kyrgyzstan and Turkiye to deepen cooperation in the field of healthcare, which should have a positive impact on the well-being of citizens of both countries.
