Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan expand trade partnership

Bishkek, July 16, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Sultan Akhmatov and Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Khurram Teshabaev held meeting in Bishkek. They discussed the current state and prospects for further development of Kyrgyz-Uzbek trade, economic, and investment cooperation, as well as practical measures to implement the agreements reached by the heads of states.

According to the relevant ministry, special attention was paid to increasing mutual trade turnover, expanding industrial cooperation, and implementing joint investment projects. Furthermore, the progress of projects under the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund, which is a key mechanism for deepening bilateral economic partnership, was separately reviewed.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in continuing systematic collaboration, the timely implementation of agreements reached, and the further strengthening of trade and economic ties between the two countries.
