Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan intend to increase mutual trade volume to $2 bln

Bishkek, May 30, 2025 /Kabar/. First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Daniyar Amangeldiev, during a working visit to Astana (Republic of Kazakhstan), met with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev on the sidelines of the Astana International Forum, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said.

During the talks, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, and also discussed the implementation of agreements reached following visits at the highest and high levels.

Daniyar Amangeldiev noted that at present, Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations fully meet the fundamental and long-term interests of the fraternal peoples of the two states, which was primarily facilitated by breakthrough and historic mutual visits at the level of heads of state, government and parliament. At the same time, he emphasized the readiness to intensify efforts to increase mutual trade and bring its volume to two billion US dollars, as instructed by the heads of state of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

In turn, Jamshid Khodjaev noted with satisfaction the high level of existing bilateral relations between the two states.

The parties also exchanged views on upcoming bilateral events scheduled for this year.

At the end of the meeting, the parties mutually expressed their commitment to further strengthening and expanding the comprehensive strategic partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
