Bishkek, Oct. 23, 2026 /Kabar/. Renovation and repair work has begun at the Kurp-Sai Hydropower Plant (HPP). President Sadyr Zhaparov announced during meeting with local residents and community representatives in Tash-Komur and Kara-Kol cities of Jala-abad region.
The head of state recalled that a year ago, he participated in the opening of a new 18 MW hydropower plant in Kara-Kol.
According to the president, this station is currently contributing to the country's electricity generation. Furthermore, projects are underway to construct the Kambar-Ata-1 HPP and to commission the second hydro-unit at the Kambar-Ata-2 HPP.
"The primary goal of all these efforts is to increase electricity production, provide the population and enterprises with a reliable power supply, and create conditions for the country's economic growth," said Sadyr Zhaparov.
