Kyrgyzstan, Japan to deepen cooperation in garment industry

Bishkek, July 14, 2026. /Kabar/. On July 13-14, representatives of garment enterprises led by Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Benazir Nurlanova met with Atsushi Narikawa, President of the well-known Japanese company JUKI, in Tokyo.

According to the department, the parties discussed the prospects for providing the country's garment industry with modern equipment and modernization.

Kyrgyz side suggested that JUKI consider the possibility of creating a service and technical infrastructure for servicing industrial sewing equipment in the country.

Nurlanova noted that prompt supply of spare parts and high-quality technical support are important conditions for the effective operation of domestic enterprises.

As part of the visit, the Kyrgyz delegation visited the company's production facilities in Totigi Prefecture and got acquainted with modern technological lines, automation and quality control systems. This visit opened the way to discuss new opportunities for increasing the productivity of domestic sewing enterprises and training technical specialists.

As a result of the meeting, JUKI announced its readiness to develop joint projects for the development of the sewing industry in Kyrgyzstan.
