Bishkek, July 20, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Benazir Nurlanova met with representatives of the Japanese agency JICA and discussed a new stage in supporting small and medium-sized businesses.
As reported by the department, Benazir Nurlanova highly appreciated the activities of JICA and the Kyrgyz-Japanese Center (KRJC) in regions, noting that the combination of business education and state subsidized loans will give significant results in supporting entrepreneurs.
It was also noted that the special attention paid by KRJC to training programs in the regions is consistent with the state policy on the development of the regions for which the Ministry is responsible.
Nurlanova noted the success of the "One Village - One Product" project and said that it is planned to institutionalize its best practices and integrate them into a single economic policy to support entrepreneurship.
"One of the important areas of cooperation is the introduction of Japan's advanced experience in the credit-guarantee system based on the Guarantee Fund. This is aimed at ensuring stable financing for businesses," the report says.
The meeting also discussed the ministry's main initiative to create an "SME Hub". Such a single ecosystem will combine an educational platform, a production and logistics base, and an Entrepreneur Service Center operating on the "single window" principle.
The Japanese side expressed its support for the ongoing policy to support business entities and noted its interest in jointly implementing programs aimed at developing entrepreneurship.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to jointly develop new technical cooperation projects that combine financial and non-financial instruments to support small and medium-sized businesses.
