Kyrgyzstan launches Second Green Economy Development Program until 2029

Bishkek, Oct. 2, 2025 /Kabar/. On October 1, 2025, a meeting of government agencies and international development partners was held at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, the ministry reported.

Chaired by Deputy Minister Mederbek Tumanov and UN Resident Coordinator in the Kyrgyz Republic and co-chair of the Development Partners Coordination Council (DPCC), Antje Grawe, the meeting focused on promoting the green economy.

During the meeting, the Green Economy Development Program until 2029 and its Implementation Plan were discussed, which define the country's strategic guidelines for implementing environmentally friendly technologies, improving energy efficiency, and attracting green investments.

Furthermore, Rector of the Kyrgyz University of Economics Gulnaz Supaeva presented the Center for Economic Modeling and Analysis, which aims to assist government agencies in developing evidence-based measures for sustainable development.

Meeting participants expressed support for the implementation of the Program, emphasizing the importance of partnership and coordinated efforts to achieve national and global sustainable development goals.
