Bishkek, Aug. 18, 2026. /Kabar/. Erlist Akunbekov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, met with Tian Hongbin, Deputy Director of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), as part of a working visit to the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China.
During the meeting, the parties discussed establishing direct contacts between Sinopec and Kyrgyz companies working with fuels and lubricants, as well as issues related to oil product supplies to Kyrgyzstan.
The Kyrgyz delegation, led by Erlist Akunbekov, included the heads of more than ten Kyrgyz companies operating in the oil sector. During the meeting, they discussed issues related to companies that had previously signed agreements.
"We included executives from companies working with petroleum products in Kyrgyzstan in the delegation so that every entrepreneur would have the opportunity to directly interact with partners and become familiar with the issues and opportunities firsthand. Kyrgyzstan is interested in increasing the volume of petroleum product supplies from China. This area has great potential and, I believe, is a long-term area of cooperation within the framework of trade and economic relations between our countries," noted Erlist Akunbekov.
In turn, Tian Hongbin, Deputy Director of Sinopec, a major Chinese oil and gas corporation and the sixth-largest global oil and gas company, expressed interest in implementing previously reached agreements on joint projects, as well as developing cooperation in new areas in the oil industry.
