Kyrgyzstan supports pharmaceutical sector, loans provided

Bishkek, July 2, 2026 /Kabar/. Bishkek discusses the implementation of the preferential lending project for manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the working meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, the State Development Bank, the specialized state-owned banks Eldik Bank and ABank, as well as the heads of domestic pharmaceutical companies and medical equipment manufacturers.

The project aims to provide state support to the domestic pharmaceutical industry, modernize production facilities, implement international quality standards, and provide the population with high-quality and affordable domestically produced products.

Concessional financing is provided for the modernization of enterprises, the acquisition of equipment, the creation of laboratories, the training of specialists, and the implementation of drug labeling systems.

Loans are provided at rates of 3% and 5% per annum for terms of up to 10 and 12 years, respectively, with a grace period for principal repayment of up to 24 months.
