Bishkek, Nov. 5, 2026 /Kabar/. Construction work is currently underway on approximately 500 facilities across the country, at least 250 to be commissioned by the end of the year. Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services Nurdan Oruntaev reports.
According to the minister, the ministry is overseeing the construction of about 500 social facilities nationwide. The plan is to complete these projects and bring them into operation in stages before the end of the construction season.
"By the end of the year, we will commission a total of at least 250 social facilities. Construction work is currently progressing actively, and we are striving to complete everything within the established deadlines," the minister stated.
Oruntaev noted that, in accordance with the directive of President Sadyr Zhaparov, special attention has been paid this year to developing social infrastructure in major cities, including addressing the shortage of schools.
"Following the instruction of President Sadyr Zhaparov, particular focus has been placed on major cities this year. As previously reported, significant work has been carried out regarding schools in Bishkek, Manas, and Osh cities. Specifically, construction has been underway on 20 schools in Bishkek, 10 in Osh, and 6 in Manas," he said.
The minister added that all new schools currently under construction in these three cities will be commissioned by the end of the year.
