Kyrgyzstan to expand cooperation with ECO Development Bank

Bishkek, July 13, 2026. /Kabar/. The 25th meeting of the Board of Governors and the Board of Directors of the Trade and Development Bank of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) were held in Istanbul. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce reports.

According to the ministry, Kyrgyzstan was represented at the event by Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Mederbek Tumanov.

The meetings addressed the bank's performance for 2025, the 2026 budget, funding for promising projects in the ECO region, and other issues related to the Bank's activities.

In his speech, the Deputy minister noted that cooperation within the ECO is based on the principles of sovereign equality, mutual respect, and partnership among member states. He emphasized that the Trade and Development Bank's activities are aimed at creating favorable conditions for the sustainable economic development of countries in the region, strengthening intraregional cooperation, expanding investment interaction, and facilitating the gradual integration of countries into the global economy through the implementation of mutually beneficial initiatives and support for joint projects.

Furthermore, Tumanov emphasized the important role of banks and other development institutions in stimulating economic growth, attracting investment in priority sectors of the economy, and implementing strategically significant projects.

In this regard, Kyrgyzstan is interested in further expanding cooperation with the ECO Trade and Development Bank and looks forward to the creation of favorable conditions for the implementation of joint projects.
