Kyrgyzstan to have new mountain tourism cluster in Chui region

Bishkek, Aug. 27, 2026 /Kabar/. Bishkek witnessed a public-private partnership agreement signed in Kyrgyzstan to implement the "Baytik Mountain Resort All-Season Mountain Tourism Cluster" project. The project is valued at $127.9 million, according to the National Investment Agency.

The agreement was signed by the Kyrgyz Republic Tourism Development Support Fund, Valmont Group LLC, and the National Investment Agency.

The project's location in the Chui Region, near Kashka-Suu village. It includes the creation of ski and tourism infrastructure, cable cars and trails with artificial snowmaking systems, hotel complexes, restaurants, spa and MICE centers, as well as facilities for family and active recreation.

Financing is planned to be secured through the EPC+F model of the strategic partner, China National Heavy Machinery Corporation (CHMC), debt financing from Eldik Bank, the private partner's own funds, and other sources not prohibited by Kyrgyz law.

At least 1,500 jobs are planned to be created during the construction phase, and at least 800 permanent jobs after the facility is commissioned. Kyrgyz citizens are expected to account for at least 80% of the jobs created.

The project also includes the implementation of a digital resort management system, Smart Resort, energy-efficient solutions, renewable energy sources, and modern environmental technologies.

The private partner is responsible for the design, financing, construction, equipment, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of the facilities. The project will be implemented in stages, with the first phase of infrastructure planned for completion within 4-5 years.

"The signing of the agreement is an important step in the implementation of a major investment project in the tourism sector. "We expect Baytik Mountain Resort to become a modern, year-round tourist attraction, contributing to the region's development, creating new jobs, and attracting investment. "It's important to us that major projects are implemented using modern technologies and deliver long-term socio-economic benefits," noted Ravshanbek Sabirov, head of the investment agency.
