Bishkek, Aug. 17, 2026 / Kabar/. During a regular staff meeting, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev discussed a number of pressing social issues, including pension increases and the readiness of educational institutions for the new academic year.
During the meeting, the chairman announced that, starting October 1, 2026, the insurance portion of pensions is planned to be indexed, increasing the minimum pension to 8,800 soms.
According to the chairman, the indexation coefficient is set at 1.20, or 20 percent.
"On average, the increase in the insurance portion of pensions for pensions up to 8,800 soms will be 141%, and for pensions above 8,800 soms, the increase will be 120%. As a result of indexation, the average pension will reach 12,898 soms, with an average increase of 1,753 soms, or 116%," the chairman noted.
On this issue, Chairman of the Social Fund Baktiyar Aliyev has been instructed to conduct full preparations for all indexation calculations, financial support, and timely payments to pensioners, as well as to organize large-scale public outreach.
Another important issue on the agenda was the readiness of the republic's general education institutions for the upcoming academic year. Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized the need to promptly update the current state of readiness of schools in all regions of the country.
The chairman instructed that special oversight be given to facilities where construction and renovation work is still ongoing, to identify risks of delays in completion, and to verify that schools are fully equipped with furniture, teaching equipment, and other necessary infrastructure.
The chairman instructed Education Minister Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva: with the start of the academic year, no obstacles to the educational process should arise due to construction, renovation, or equipment issues.
