Bishkek, April 15, 2025. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev met with the regional head of the UK Export Credit Agency (UKEF) Sabnem Alp, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of providing financing in the amount of $2.27 billion from the export credit agency in order to develop and support the business environment in Kyrgyzstan.
Bakyt Torobaev noted that the head of state has clearly outlined priorities in the area of modernization of the agro-industrial complex, infrastructure development, export diversification and increasing investment attractiveness. As part of these tasks, the Cabinet of Ministers strives to create added value within the country, promote environmentally friendly and organic agriculture, modernize irrigation systems, and transition from a raw materials to a processing model of the economy.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the mining, construction and infrastructure sectors.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further developing and strengthening Kyrgyz-British cooperation in all areas.
