Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan intend to strengthen cooperation in education and science

Bishkek, March 26, 2025. /Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan Duishonkul Chotonov and Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbay Sharipov met in Tashkent at the initiative of the Kyrgyz embassy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported that special attention was paid to the issue of mutual recognition of diplomas and academic degrees as a key factor for the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of education and science, and possible steps for signing a corresponding agreement were discussed.

During the exchange of views, the parties discussed possible areas for expanding bilateral cooperation, discussing, in particular, the organization of youth educational tours and a youth forum, as well as holding a fair of technology projects, etc.

The meeting emphasized the importance of holding the Forum of Rectors as a platform for exchanging experience and developing cooperation between the educational systems of the two countries. The discussion also touched upon the exchange of experience in innovative approaches to education between leading state universities of the two countries, including joint innovative research projects in the field of water resources, tourism and economics. The parties agreed to continue working together to strengthen educational and scientific ties, including the implementation of joint projects, as a foundation for long-term cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
