Kyrgyzstan, World Bank discuss attracting tourism investment

Bishkek, Oct. 9, 2026 /Kabar/. Eduard Kubatov, Director of the State Agency for Tourism Development, and representatives of the World Bank discussed opportunities for attracting investment and supporting the private sector within Kyrgyzstan's tourism industry. The working meeting took place on October 8.

According to the agency, the parties reviewed priority areas for tourism development, the agency's current activities, and potential mechanisms for World Bank support of the sector.

Participants also discussed the World Bank Group's capacity to help attract investment into the country's tourism sector and foster private business development.

Particular attention was paid to the current status of the "Suzhan" project and the subsequent stages of its implementation.

Following the meeting, the parties emphasized the need to continue cooperation in the tourism sector and to work jointly on projects.
