Kyrgyzstan's banking sector assets exceed 1.5 trillion soms

Bishkek, Aug. 17, 2026 /Kabar/. As of June 30, 2026, there were 26 commercial banks and 306 of their branches operating in Kyrgyzstan.

According to the National Bank, total banking sector assets have grown by 30.2% since the beginning of the year, reaching 1 trillion 577.3 billion soms. The volume of loans issued by banks to clients increased by 18.9%, reaching 602.6 billion soms.

"At the same time, the total bank deposit base grew by 6.8% to 924.7 billion soms. The volume of Islamic financing has grown by 35.4% since the beginning of the year, reaching 26 billion soms. Currently, six commercial banks offer Islamic banking services," the statement says.
