Bishkek, July 16, 2026. /Kabar/. Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Sydykov spoke at a Trade Over Aid event at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) in New York.

According to the ministry, the minister welcomed the US Trade Over Aid initiative, aimed at developing a partnership based on trade, investment, and mutual economic benefit.

He noted that this approach is fully consistent with Kyrgyzstan's National Development Program until 2030, which envisions private sector development, industrialization, export diversification, and investment attraction.

During his speech, the minister outlined promising areas of cooperation with the United States, including hydropower development, the development of critical mineral resources, information technology, agriculture, tourism, and transport infrastructure.

"Particular attention was paid to the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway as one of the key regional transport projects contributing to the strengthening of trade and economic ties," the statement says.

Bakyt Sydykov emphasized that for landlocked countries, trade development is impossible without modern infrastructure, access to financing, and effective trade procedures. At the same time, international technical assistance should contribute to the expansion of trade, attracting investment, and strengthening the economic potential of states.
