Bishkek, July 10, 2026. /Kabar/. The State Insurance Organization (SIO) participated in the 14th International Takaful Insurance Summit in London from June 30 to July 2.
According to the agency's press service, the summit is a leading event in the field of Islamic insurance, bringing together global leaders, regulators, and representatives of the takaful market. It was organized by the Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance (IIBI) in partnership with World Takaful and City & Commercial Insurance Group (C&C).
The event was opened by Marcus Johnson, Chairman of the Association of Lloyd's Members (ALM). He focused his speech on infrastructure integration and the creation of takaful syndicates.
One of the key speakers at the summit was Baktygul Abdyzhaliev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC GSO. According to the organization, the delegation's participation was aimed at addressing three strategic objectives:
- Sharing expertise: holding a master class and presenting best practices in the systemic development of takaful at the national level, using a real-life case study from JSC GSO as an example.
- Learning from experience: familiarizing oneself with international practices in Islamic insurance and current market development trends.
- Developing partnerships: establishing direct contacts and strengthening business ties with leading foreign insurance and reinsurance takaful companies.
During the sessions, Baktygul Abdyzhaliev delivered a report on "Takaful in Central Asia: Unique Experience in Implementing Islamic Insurance in Kyrgyzstan at the Legislative Level."
Additionally, to expand the company's operations, the Kyrgyz delegation held strategic meetings and business negotiations in London with leaders in the investment and consulting sector: ICBC Standard Bank, Oppenheimer, and the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
The parties discussed GSO's further entry into international capital markets, including prospects for an initial public offering (IPO) and bond issuance (Eurobonds and sukuk).
With ICBC Standard Bank (a leading international financial institution), the discussion focused on long-term investments in personal savings insurance.
A meeting with the London Stock Exchange was held, led by Ayuna Nechaeva, Head of Primary Markets Europe at LSEG. The participants discussed raising capital through bond issuance (Eurobonds and sukuk), which is one of the priorities set by the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.
With Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. Representatives of GSO OJSC and a major American independent investment bank discussed obtaining an international credit rating, which is necessary to strengthen the company's position in the global financial market. The meeting focused on the timing, aspects, and current trends of bond issuance (euro and sukuk).
