Bishkek, Nov. 17, 2025 /Kabar/. For the first time this year, about 4 million books have been published in Kyrgyzstan, director of “Okuu Kitebi” publishing house, Tologon Amatov told Kabar. According to him, this is a record figure for the country. However, the problem of book shortage for schools has not been completely solved.

“If we continue to publish books in this volume for 2-3 years, this problem will be completely solved. More than 100 thousand books are needed for schoolchildren of one grade. If the same book is published in a second language, it will be 200 thousand. If each grade has an average of 8-10 subjects, the total number of books needed for grades 1-12 will reach 15-16 million,” he said.
