Bishkek, Aug. 21, 2026. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Ulan Mamatkanov held a meeting on the readiness of the country's educational institutions for the new school year.
During the meeting, they discussed the readiness of schools and kindergartens, the availability of teaching staff, textbooks, and necessary equipment. Particular attention was paid to the progress of construction of educational facilities, their commissioning dates, and the implementation of major repairs at schools and kindergartens.
Deputy Chairman Ulan Mamatkanov noted that more than 1,586,000 children will be enrolled in schools in the country in the new school year. According to him, one of the main changes in the new school year will be the implementation of the second stage of the transition to 12-year school education. This year, students in grades 3 and 8 will begin studying using the new curricula and teaching and methodological packages.
Ulan Mamatkanov emphasized the importance of ensuring educational institutions are fully prepared for the new academic year.
Following this, relevant state and local authorities were instructed to take special care to ensure schools and kindergartens are prepared accordingly.
