Oruntaev inspects reconstruction of Manas airport

Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2025. /Kabar/. On September 23, Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing, and Communal Services Nurdan Oruntaev inspected the progress of the reconstruction of Manas International Airport.

According to the ministry, during the visit, he instructed that the number of workers on site be increased to 200 to ensure high-quality and timely completion of the work.

At least 120 specialists should be employed at the site during the day, and 70-80 during the evening shift. The airport reconstruction is one of the key construction projects of this year. According to the project, the airport's area will increase by 18,000 square meters to 39,000 square meters. The construction of a modern skywalk, a complete redesign with a national flavor, and the installation of a monument to Manas also planned. The terminal will fully comply with international standards.

In addition, the building will be equipped with travelators and escalators, and a spacious waiting room measuring 8.8 meters high, 15.5 meters wide, and 255.5 meters long will be built on the second floor. Work is currently underway to dismantle the western overpass, complete interior finishing, and install granite slabs on the second floor, the ministry reports.
