Bishkek, Aug. 07, 2026 /Kabar/. Uzbekistan proposed expanding cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the areas of digital trade, industrial cooperation, green technologies, labor mobility, and tourism. Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov spoke at expanded meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which is taking place in Cholpon-Ata.
He praised Kazakhstan's work during its EAEU presidency, as well as its initiatives to develop artificial intelligence, strengthen transport links, expand industrial cooperation, and liberalize trade.
According to Aripov, expanding practical cooperation with EAEU member states remains a key focus of Uzbekistan's foreign economic policy. Currently, this cooperation is reaching a new level of comprehensive economic partnership, opening up new opportunities in logistics, energy, services, and the digital economy.
He noted that Uzbekistan, together with the Eurasian Economic Commission, is completing the implementation of a three-year plan of joint activities. As part of this plan, a roadmap for harmonizing the technical regulatory systems of Uzbekistan and the EAEU was adopted.
This fall, Tashkent to host the next meeting of the joint working group of Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Commission, to discuss new plans for the next stage of cooperation.
Furthermore, a portfolio of projects in industry, energy, and logistics has been formed jointly with the Eurasian Development Bank.
The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan also voiced a number of specific proposals for developing cooperation. The first area is the creation of a single digital space for unimpeded trade. According to him, it is necessary to move from the concept to specific pilot projects, ensuring digital interaction, information exchange between regulatory authorities, and the mutual recognition of electronic documents. It was also proposed to launch an intelligent transport and customs corridor along one of the key transport routes.
Aripov identified the second area as taking industrial cooperation to a new level. He proposed developing a joint cooperation program based on the agreements reached at the Innoprom exhibition.
According to him, the document should include a list of promising projects, production sites, and partners, as well as specific sources of funding for joint initiatives.
"Uzbekistan is ready to create a project office for cooperation and work closely with the Eurasian Economic Commission and development institutions," Aripov said.
The third area was the adoption of a joint program for the "green" transformation of industry. It will be aimed at improving energy efficiency and implementing clean technologies.
According to Aripov, the first stage requires the formation of a portfolio of projects in energy-intensive industries, including the implementation of artificial intelligence-based solutions in energy management.
The fourth proposal concerns organized labor mobility. Uzbekistan proposed integrating its national digital employment platform with the EAEU system related to labor mobility.
"We are ready to hold consultations with the Eurasian Economic Commission to develop coordinated approaches to launching this initiative," the head of the Uzbek government stated.
The fifth area proposed was expanding cooperation in tourism. Aripov noted that the meeting in Cholpon-Ata clearly demonstrates the shared tourism potential of Central Asia.
He called on all interested parties to join the "Central Asian Tourism Ring" initiative. The initiative proposes creating joint cross-border tourist routes, developing a unified calendar of events, organizing package tours, and promoting them on major digital platforms.
Aripov proposed including all these areas in a new joint action plan between the government of Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
According to him, the implementation of these initiatives will contribute to strengthening mutually beneficial partnerships between states and their sustainable development.
