Uzbekistan’s population density continued to rise in early 2026, showing steady demographic growth across the country, Kun.uz reported.
According to official data released by the National Statistics Committee, as of January 1, 2026, an average of 85.2 people lived in each square kilometer of Uzbekistan’s territory. This marks an increase of 1.6 people per square kilometer compared with the same period a year earlier.
Official figures show a consistent upward trend in population density over the past five years.
On January 1, 2021, the indicator stood at 78.6 people per square kilometer. It rose to 80.2 in 2022, reached 82 in 2023, increased further to 83.6 in 2024, and climbed to 85.2 by the start of 2025, before remaining at that level entering 2026.
