Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2026 /Kabar/. On September 21, as part of his working visit to the United States, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov visited the StoneX Group office in New York and held a meeting with the corporation's leadership, the Presidential Administration reported.
During the visit to the office, Zhaparov familiarized himself with StoneX Group’s core activities, its international financial infrastructure, and its experience in global financial and commodities markets, as well as the company's capabilities in serving corporate, institutional, and government clients.
Subsequently, the president met with a StoneX Group delegation led by CEO Philip Smith.
The parties noted that Kyrgyzstan and StoneX Group already have a track record of cooperation in the international precious metals trade. Business ties established over previous years and the company's understanding of the specifics of the Kyrgyz market provide a foundation for further expanding practical cooperation.
In this context, the parties discussed promising areas of collaboration, including precious metals trading, price risk management, international settlements, and the use of modern financial instruments.
Particular attention was paid to the potential for leveraging StoneX Group’s international financial infrastructure and expertise to implement new projects in Kyrgyzstan.
President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the importance of further developing economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the USA, noting the Kyrgyz side's interest in attracting American investment, technology, and international expertise. He highlighted the significant potential for expanding collaboration with StoneX Group, given the company's experience in international financial and commodities markets.
For his part, Philip Smith noted the prospects for further expanding and deepening commercial relations between StoneX Group and Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized the company's readiness to increase resources and efforts to expand its presence in the Kyrgyz market and develop cooperation across various financial service sectors.
Philip Smith expressed his gratitude to President Sadyr Zhaparov for his attention to developing this partnership and reaffirmed the company's readiness for continued joint work.
The meeting concluded with a ceremony to sign memoranda of understanding between the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic and StoneX Group, as well as between Eldik Bank OJSC and StoneX Group.
