Bishkek, Oct. 14, 2026 /Kabar/. Events aimed at developing media literacy, civic engagement, and leadership skills among teenagers are being held across Kyrgyzstan’s regions as part of the "Strong Youth — Strong Country!" project.

According to the Ministry of Education, on October 12, a football tournament and a podcast session were organized in Bishkek to mark the International Day of the Girl Child. Aidana Otorbaeva, a Master of Sports of Kyrgyzstan participated in the tournament. She encouraged girls to lead healthy lifestyles, engage in sports, and contribute to the country's future.

Students from media clubs at eight schools in the capital took part in the event. Additionally, information stands were presented to the schools.

A series of events is scheduled across the country's regions from September 16 to December 15, including anti-violence campaigns, football and volleyball tournaments, quiz games, and a comic book contest.

The project covers the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Talas, and Kyzyl-Kiya, as well as the Kochkor, At-Bashy, Suzak, and Nookat districts. Students from the media clubs of participating schools are actively involved in these activities.

The initiative aims to enhance educational work with adolescents in general education institutions, boost their media literacy and civic engagement, and prevent cyberbullying and delinquency.

The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Education and the Union of Public Media with the support of UNICEF.
