Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2025. /Kabar/. Liyukou Village, consisting of four natural villages – Liyukou, Laoyukou, Tumen, and Baiyun – is emerging as a shining example of rural revitalization in Shaanxi Province of China. Nestled among mountains and rivers, the village offers breathtaking scenery and a harmonious living environment that continues to attract visitors and researchers alike.

In recent years, Liyukou has established a unique rural tourism model integrating “red resources + parent-child labor research and study + homestay.” This innovative approach has helped create new opportunities for local development while preserving cultural heritage.

Rural tourism is booming in the Qinling Mountains, where ecological preservation and cultural heritage have created new opportunities for sustainable development. Villages such as Liyukou, home to about 280,000 residents and located in the scenic foothills of Xi’an, are emerging as model destinations that combine natural beauty, history, and innovation.

The popularity of local attractions, including a newly renovated café, highlights the region’s transformation. Once a disused factory, the café now covers an area of about 1,000 square meters and features portraits of village sages as well as a movie screening room. Set against the backdrop of the verdant, cloud-shrouded Zhongnan Mountains – part of the Qinling range long celebrated for its hermit culture – the café has become a popular stop for visitors seeking both relaxation and cultural enrichment.

In recent years, China has strengthened its long-term conservation system, introducing measures such as the five-level forest chief system. These steps have preserved the natural landscape while attracting more urban residents, especially from Xi’an, to enjoy slow-paced vacations in mountain villages.

As cultural and ecological tourism continues to grow, the Qinling Mountains are cementing their reputation not only as a natural treasure but also as a driving force for rural transformation in China.

The village has been recognized with numerous honors, including the titles “Beautiful and Livable Demonstration Village of Shaanxi Province,” “Advanced Grassroots Party Organization of Xi’an City,” “Rural Tourism Demonstration Village of Xi’an City,” and “Civilized Village and Town of Xi’an City.”

Thanks to these efforts, Liyukou has become a benchmark for rural transformation and sustainable tourism in the region. The village is not only promoting ecological and cultural tourism but also improving the livelihoods of local residents through diversified industries such as agriculture, homestays, and cultural education programs.
