Bishkek, March 31, 2025. /Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, as part of a working visit to Tajikistan, held talks with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Khujand.
The presidential press service said that the heads of state discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, exchanged views on key aspects of the regional agenda.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Sadyr Zhaparov and the entire Kyrgyz people on the resolution of issues on the state border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and emphasized that he was enthusiastic about this news.
Sadyr Zhaparov congratulated his colleague on the signing of the Protocol and the exchange of ratification instruments on the entry into force of the Treaty on Alliance Relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, noting that this step will become another important factor in stability and development in the region.
He also recalled that in 2023, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan signed a similar Treaty on the delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek state border, and in the same year, in Bishkek, the heads of state exchanged ratification instruments.
In this context, the signing of the trilateral Treaty between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan on the junction point of state borders is the logical conclusion of the countries' efforts to finally resolve border issues.
Following the meeting, Sadyr Zhaparov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev confirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening good-neighborly relations, expanding cooperation in various fields and actively developing political dialogue.
