Bishkek, Feb. 13, 2026 / Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov on Thursday received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerlan Kosherbayev, the presidential administration reported.
During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas of mutual interest and noted the significant potential for further expansion of interaction.
An exchange of views also took place on multilateral cooperation within international and regional organizations. The parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue coordinating efforts on the international stage.
Zhaparov noted that relations between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan are demonstrating steady positive dynamics, being filled with concrete practical content, while interstate political dialogue is actively developing at the highest and high levels.
In this context, the president highlighted the joint implementation of major trade and investment, transport and transit, as well as water and energy projects, including the construction of the Kambarata HPP-1.
Kosherbayev, in turn, expressed gratitude for the warm reception extended to the Kazakh delegation and conveyed greetings from President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
He noted that the trust-based dialogue established between the leaders of the two countries serves as a solid foundation for further strengthening allied relations and ensuring stability, well-being and prosperity for the peoples of both states.
The Kazakh foreign minister also confirmed that one of the priorities of Kazakhstan’s foreign ministry is the high-quality and timely implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, as well as giving additional momentum to practical cooperation in trade, economic, investment and humanitarian spheres.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Zhaparov conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to President Tokayev and wished success to the Kazakh foreign minister in his state duties.
