SFD allocates $50 man for school construction in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 9, 2025. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan and the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) have signed a $50 million loan agreement on Construction of Public Schools Project.

The agreement was signed by Kyrgyz Minister of Finance Almaz Baketayev and Director General of the Saudi Development Fund Sultan Abdurahman Al-Marshad.

The main goal of the project is to expand citizens' access to quality education and develop social infrastructure through the construction of modern public schools that meet international standards. The project plans to build 5 new schools and 7 additional educational buildings in Bishkek, as well as 2 schools in the Chui region. The capacity of these facilities will be adjusted from 150 to 1,000 places.

The parties discussed the current status of joint projects being implemented with the support of Saudi Development Fund, noting their importance in strengthening the social and economic infrastructure of Kyrgyzstan.

In addition, the parties paid special attention to considering promising cooperation opportunities in the development and implementation of new initiatives that will contribute to sustainable development.
