Speaker of Parliament resigns in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Feb.12, 2026. /Kabar/. Speaker of Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu announced his decision to resign voluntarily.

He stated that important events occurred in the country during his official visit to Turkey, and various rumors and speculations about him were circulated.

"I don't serve one or two people; I serve the state and the people. There's no need to tie me to specific individuals," he noted.

Speaker emphasized that since his reelection, he has contributed to the adoption of important government decisions, and that parliament has played a significant role in ensuring political stability and the country's development.

"All important and necessary laws have been passed. We must have a political culture," he said.

He also assured that his decision to resign was voluntary and that no pressure was exerted on him.
