STEM teacher training discussed in Bishkek

Bishkek, Jan. 27, 2026. /Kabar/. Meeting on teacher training and professional development was held in Bishkek today, according to the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to the ministry, the meeting discussed issues related to teacher training and professional development, organizing training in accordance with newly adopted state and subject standards, and strengthening pedagogical and methodological support.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the involvement of international mentors and trainers, providing state support to students studying in teaching fields, and training English-language teachers in STEM fields.

Deputy chairman of the Cabinet Edil Baisalov noted that teachers are a key element in the education system and emphasized that teacher training and professional development should be a priority for state policy. He also emphasized the importance of coordinated and systematic work by all stakeholders in this area.

In turn, Minister Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva emphasized the need for integration into the global educational space in the training of teaching staff, noting that pedagogical universities should act as the main leaders in changes in the teacher training system.
