Bishkek, Oct. 6, 2025. /Kabar/. According to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, in January-August 2025, the country imported more than 18 thousand tons of potatoes from Kyrgyzstan. During the specified period, a total of 490.8 thousand tons of potatoes were imported into Uzbekistan from 11 countries, the total value of which amounted to 49.7 million US dollars. Compared to the same period last year, potato imports increased by 9.1 percent or by 41 thousand tons. The main volume of imports came from Pakistan (299.4 thousand tons). This was followed by Kazakhstan (110 thousand tons), Afghanistan (34.8 thousand tons), Kyrgyzstan (18.1 thousand tons) and Russia (15.4 thousand tons). Another 13.1 thousand tons of potatoes were delivered from other countries.
