Uzbekistan, Tajikistan expand cooperation in tourism

A tourist event “Regional dialogue between Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan” took place in Khujand as part of the working visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Tajikistan.

The event’s primary objective is to initiate new initiatives that expand tourism cooperation between countries and create favorable conditions for companies operating in the sector.

Employees of the Tashkent Regional Tourism Department and entrepreneurs engaged in the tourism sector attended the event. They presented the achievements of Tashkent region in tourism, plans, and ways to strengthen cooperation.

Foreign investors’ interest in implementing new tourism projects in Tashkent region is growing. Last year, the tourism sector representatives and entrepreneurs of Sughd and Osh regions visited Parkent district. Almost 30 agreements and memoranda on permanent cooperation between representatives of Tashkent region and neighboring countries have been signed. This year, it is planned to attract a total of 176.9 thousand foreign tourists to Parkent district.

The Tourism Forum has contributed to strengthening cooperation in tourism between the two countries. At the B2B and B2G meetings, plans for further cooperation were discussed, and proposals were considered to increase the number of tourists visiting Tashkent region from neighboring countries and provide them with tourism services.
