Bishkek, Dec. 4, 2025. /Kabar/. Large-scale environmental event involving the planting of saplings on area of 30 hectares is planned in Ton region of Issyk-Kul oblast.
According to the Forest Service, the event will take place in the Kara-Kemer section of the Ton forestry enterprise as part of the state program "Zhashyl Muras."
According to the agency, various species of deciduous trees, as well as Tien Shan spruce seedlings, will be planted on the site. The site is completely fenced with the support of FAO to protect it from grazing.
In addition, construction of a modern 500-square-meter greenhouse and a cold storage warehouse for storing seedlings has been completed in Bokonbaev village. The facilities were built with FAO support as part of the French Dashen project and are now ready for use. Their official opening will take place on the day of the event. The event will be attended by ministry leaders, representatives of the Forestry Service, local authorities of Issyk-Kul oblast, and FAO representatives.
According to the organizers, these initiatives are aimed at restoring forests, improving the environmental situation in the region, providing the population with high-quality seedlings, and increasing local participation in green projects.
