Bishkek, June 23, 2026. /Kabar/. Today, during a working visit to Naryn Oblast, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov reviewed the status and dynamics of socioeconomic development in Zhumgal district.
District Akim Zhanybek Isakov presented a report to the head of state on the progress of infrastructure and investment projects in recent years and outlined priority areas for the district's further development.
24 construction projects worth over 1 billion 43 million soms were commissioned between 2021 and 2025. These included seven schools, three gyms, two kindergartens, five administrative buildings, and seven manufacturing facilities. Financing was provided by the republican and local budgets, the Development Fund, as well as investors and partners.
In the road sector, work worth 428.4 million soms was completed during this period. 35.7 km of roads were paved, 89 km of gravel pavement was laid, and road surface repairs totaling over 133,000 square meters were completed.
Significant results were achieved in the irrigation sector. From 2021 to 2025, projects worth over 1 billion 18 million soms were implemented, with funding for the sector increasing almost 94-fold. Construction of the Tugol-Sai Reservoir, which began in 2022 and cost 836.3 million soms, continues. Commissioning is scheduled for 2026.
In the clean drinking water sector, work worth 379.9 million soms has been completed over the past five years, with funding increasing 11.5-fold. In 2026, water supply systems worth a total of 595.6 million soms are planned to be commissioned in seven settlements in the district.
It is also noted that 21 facilities are currently under construction in the district. Sixteen facilities are planned to be completed and commissioned by the end of 2026, including administrative buildings, social infrastructure facilities, six mini-football pitches, and a modern sports complex.
Special attention was given to issues requiring further consideration. Specifically, the district continues to need state-financed housing, with approximately 4,350 residents in need of improved housing conditions. Two hectare plot of land is available in Chayek village for the project.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed the prospects for constructing a centralized wastewater disposal system and treatment facilities in Chayek village, creating a district venue for cultural events, and implementing projects aimed at developing the tourism potential of the Zhumgal district.
President Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized the importance of further comprehensive development of the region, improving the quality of life for the population, and effectively implementing planned infrastructure projects.
