Bishkek, May 11, 2026. /Kabar/. About 600 meters of old fishing nets have been recovered from Issyk-Kul Lake.
According to Ministry of Emergency Situations, divers discovered and recovered abandoned nets opposite Kurmontu village in Tyup district on May 10 during lake cleanup operations.
It is noted that a large-scale campaign to clean Issyk-Kul of garbage and poaching nets has been ongoing for the past four years.
