Academy of Finance launches project management course in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Oct. 16, 2025 /Kabar/. The Academy of Finance under the Kyrgyz Finance Ministry launched new course Financial Project Management for the first time in Central Asia. The course is supported by World Bank.

According to the Ministry of Finance, during the World Bank's annual meetings in Washington, Erke Turdumambetova, Director of the Academy of Finance, and Omurbek Sabirov, Deputy Director of the Public Procurement Department of the Ministry of Finance, and Yulia Komagaeva, World Bank Country Program Coordinator for Central Asia discussed the launch of a pilot course on Financial Project Management aimed at improving the skills of specialists involved in the implementation of international projects in public and private entities.

From October 20 to 23, 2025, the Academy of Finance will launch a pilot course, Financial Project Management for 20 employees from project implementation departments of ministries and agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic. This will be the first step toward the large-scale implementation of the program.

For reference: from May 26 to 29, 2025, the Academy of Finance, with the support of the World Bank Country Office, held a training-for-trainers course on the same topic.

The training was attended also by faculty from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, as part of efforts to develop regional cooperation and exchange experiences.
