The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted the importance of e-commerce, which gives a powerful impetus to economic development, including investment activity, and is the reason for serious structural changes in the economy.
For the Kyrgyz Republic, e-commerce has become not just a new sector, but a powerful tool for economic growth and integration into regional and global supply chains. In recent years, we have seen rapid growth in online sales, digital payments, as well as the development of logistics and financial infrastructure, which makes participation in the digital economy accessible to small and medium-sized businesses, he said.
Adylbek Kasymaliev continued that the volume of the domestic e-commerce market in 2025 is estimated to reach $525 million, an increase of about 15% compared to last year. In the first half of 2025, online purchases amounted to approximately 1 million transactions totaling about 1.7 billion soms, an increase in volume of almost 56% compared to the same period last year.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that an E-commerce Park is being developed – a platform to support e-commerce entrepreneurs, create digital infrastructure and logistics. A preferential tax and legal framework has been introduced: for example, a special tax regime with 2% of turnover, exemption from VAT, income tax and sales tax for e-commerce participants. Special attention is paid to the development of cross-border trade.
