Bishkek, March 1, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyz athlete Aiperi Medet kyzy won the international ranking wrestling tournament held in Tirana, Albania.
On February 28, the Kyrgyz representative competed in the 76 kg weight class and demonstrated confident and dominant wrestling throughout the competition day. Aiperi began her journey to gold in the round of 16, where she defeated Gulmaral Erkebaeva (Kazakhstan) 12-2. In the quarterfinals, the Kyrgyzstani left Vanesa Georgieva (Bulgaria) with a 10-0 victory, and in the semifinals, she defeated Elmira Yasin (Turkey) just as convincingly, 14-0.
The final match proved crucial. Aiperi's opponent was the reigning world champion, Genesis Reasco Valdez (Ecuador), whom she defeated 5-4.
The athletes previously met in the final of the 2025 World Championships, where the Ecuadorian won. This time, the Kyrgyzstani won a convincing rematch and won the final of the ranking tournament, taking the gold medal.
