Bishkek, Dec. 15, 2025. /Kabar/. Aiyl Bank participated in the high-level conference "Water, Mountains, and Glaciers of the Kyrgyz Republic: A Sustainable Future," held in Bishkek. The event brought together representatives of government agencies, international organizations, and the scientific community to discuss key issues of sustainable development and natural resource conservation.
As part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) commitments, the bank donated specialized equipment, Heucke Ice Drill steam auger worth €4,473 to the Adygene High Mountain Research Station. The equipment is designed to conduct high-precision research on the glaciers of the Northern Tien Shan and ensure regular monitoring of their condition.
The donated equipment will enable the research station to conduct systematic measurements on the Adygene, Panfilov, and Ak-Sai glaciers, ensuring continuous data on glacier mass balance. Previously, the lack of proprietary instruments seriously limited researchers' capabilities and hindered the expansion of monitoring to new areas.
Tilek Alijanov, Chairman of the Board of Aiyl Bank OJSC, noted that supporting scientific projects is an integral part of the bank's environmental responsibility:
"In the face of climate challenges, scientific research on glaciers is a contribution to Kyrgyzstan's sustainable future. We are pleased to support experts whose work helps strengthen the country's environmental and water security. By implementing our ESG approach, we strive to promote the conservation of natural resources and the development of Kyrgyzstan's scientific potential."
The conference provided platform for discussing the challenges associated with climate change and emphasized the need for joint efforts by government agencies, the scientific community, and businesses to preserve the country's mountain ecosystems.
