Bishkek, May 29, 2026. /Kabar/. Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Annalena Baerbock, President of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the parties exchanged views on current issues on the international agenda, including contemporary challenges to global security, sustainable development, strengthening multilateral cooperation, and enhancing the role of the UN in addressing the most pressing political and socioeconomic issues.
The minister briefed the president of UN General Assembly on the current situation in Kyrgyzstan, noting the country's economic development under the leadership of Sadyr Zhaparov, as well as the improvement of the investment climate and the advancement of large-scale infrastructure and regional projects.
Particular attention was paid to regional cooperation in Central Asia. The minister emphasized that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to strengthening good-neighborly relations, developing transport, energy, and trade and economic connectivity, as well as promoting joint projects in the transport and energy sectors.
In turn, Annalena Baerbock praised Kyrgyzstan's dynamic economic development, particularly in a context where the international community faces serious political and economic challenges.
She also noted the agreements reached to resolve all problematic issues in Central Asia, which could serve as an example for other countries, including the implementation of joint regional projects. In this context, she welcomed the adoption of the resolution "Peaceful Settlement of Border Disputes," initiated by Kyrgyzstan and adopted by consensus by UN member states.
